PROJETO DAILY MANIFEST - PÉS PARA O ALTO.
O projeto Daily Manifest foi criado para ser uma manifestação diária feita através da expressão artística da fotografia. Inserido ao tema central, há os subtemas como este que foi denominado de "PÉS PARA O ALTO" - espaço onde foi possível eternizar através da fotografia a arte, o dom e o talento de um menino negro que sai do subúrbio do Rio de Janeiro para estudar balé clássico na Alemanha. O manifesto parte do fato de que nas áreas mais humildes do Rio o que as pessoas pretas e pobres (quando estão com "sorte") mais ouvem é: "Mãos para o alto!" Em contramão da "regra", o menino Marcos se projeta para o mundo com os "Pés para o Alto" buscando seu lugar ao sol e correndo atrás do espaço. O Daily Manifest busca a reflexão a cerca das oportunidades (ou a falta das mesmas), mas, principalmente, visa expor o sucesso do menino que alcançou o sonho com seus "Pés para ao Alto".
Esse projeto foi semifinalista de um dos maiores concursos de fotografia da América Latina (BPS - BRASÍLIA PHOTO SHOW) e foi exposto no museu de arte de BrasÍlia. Esse projeto estará na exposição em São Paulo pelo festival FotoDoc.

FEET RAISED HIGH
The Daily Manifest project was created to be a daily manifestation through the artistic expression of photography. Within its central theme, there are subthemes such as this one, entitled “Feet Raised High”—a space where photography has immortalized the art, gift, and talent of a young Black boy who left the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro to study classical ballet in Germany.
The manifesto is rooted in the fact that, in the poorest areas of Rio, what Black and poor people (when they are “lucky”) most often hear is: “Hands up!” In contrast to that “rule,” young Marcos projects himself into the world with his Feet Raised High, reaching for his place in the sun and pursuing his space.
Daily Manifest invites reflection on opportunities (or the lack thereof), but above all, it seeks to highlight the success of this boy who achieved his dream with his Feet Raised High.
This project was a semifinalist in one of the largest photography competitions in Latin America (BPS – Brasília Photo Show) and was exhibited at the Brasília Museum of Art. It will also be part of the exhibition in São Paulo at the FotoDoc festival.
*Some of these artworks will be offered as one-of-a-kind pieces. This project presents different fine art editions, created for collectors who value exclusivity and authenticity.
PROJETO DAILY MANIFEST - ENTRE MUROS.
Revendo artes antigas, a inspiração saltou quando os olhos bateram em "Os Amantes", de René Mangritte. Os rostos cobertos naquela arte trouxeram à tona, quase que de forma instantânea, uma reflexão baseada em memórias profundas de um passado distante que outrora também foi meu:
A pressão pra repressão!
A referência visual trazida por René, no mesmo momento que vislumbrada, me fez refletir sobre amigos, pessoas amadas... sobre o artista, mas também sobre o desconhecido - qualquer um que ainda vive sob pressão pra não serem quem são!
O muro existe! É real!
Ele não é confortável, como alguns pensam.
O muro é duro, cheio de pedras, instável.
No muro não há confiança, não há o relaxamento, o descanso.
As histórias podem ser parecidas, mas cada história é escrita por uma mão diferente, pois somos o fruto do núcleo social que fizemos parte. Por isso, o nosso olhar precisa alcançar a empatia.
As obras podem chocar algumas pessoas, e esse é o objetivo sim!
O anseio é trazer à reflexão o tanto de dor que há na pressão para a repressão.
Procuro quebrar paradigmas levantados e sustentados pela religiosidade, pelo caos preconceituoso de gerações familiares, pelo o que uma sociedade diz que é o certo.
Procuro trazer novas convicções a cerca do se olhar, se sentir, se priorizar.
De antemão já afirmo que ver uma obra de arte legitimamente gay não fará com que seu filho ou filha se torne um. Afinal, não é assim que funciona.
Contudo, um dos objetivos do projeto é sim, fazer com que ao ver e entender uma obra neste nível de veracidade, os futuros adultos desse mundo não se coloquem no lugar de opressor.
O muro existe, mas não precisa durar pra sempre!
O ápice da obra é fazer com que aquele que hoje está no muro, se veja, se perceba, se ame e se aceite!
Que sintam o peso do papel ambíguo que vivem, e se libertem!
Que o muro caia!
Que a liberdade chegue!
Em seu tempo. Com tempo. Mas em tempo!
Among Walls
Reviewing old artworks, inspiration struck the moment my eyes landed on “The Lovers” by René Magritte.
Those covered faces instantly awakened deep reflections — memories from a distant past that once belonged to me as well:
The pressure to repress!
The visual reference brought by René, at the very moment it was seen, made me reflect on friends, loved ones… on the artist, but also on the unknown — anyone still living under the pressure of not being who they truly are.
The wall exists! It’s real!
It’s not comfortable, as some might think.
The wall is hard, filled with stones, unstable.
On the wall, there’s no trust, no relaxation, no rest.
Stories may resemble one another, but each one is written by a different hand, for we are all products of the social circles we belong to. That’s why our gaze must reach empathy.
These works may shock some people — and that is the point!
The intention is to provoke reflection on how much pain lies within the pressure to repress.
I seek to break paradigms built and sustained by religiosity, by the prejudiced chaos of family generations, by what society claims to be “right.”
I seek to bring new convictions about seeing oneself, feeling oneself, prioritizing oneself.
Let me be clear: seeing a genuinely gay artwork will not make your son or daughter become one. That’s not how it works.
However, one of the project’s goals is to ensure that by seeing and understanding a work at this level of truth, the future adults of this world will not place themselves in the role of oppressor.
The wall exists, but it doesn’t have to last forever!
The essence of this work is to help those who are still on the wall see themselves, perceive themselves, love themselves, and accept themselves —
to feel the weight of the ambiguous role they live and break free!
May the wall fall!
May freedom arrive!

NO FUNDO DO RIO - "A SABEDORIA"
MÃOS, PÉS, MARCAS DE UMA VIDA DE LUTA, SORRISOS E ESPERANÇA.
Um projeto que objetiva mostrar a Baixada Fluminense do Rio de Janeiro à FUNDO, de uma forma que a sociedade e o poder público nunca estiveram dispostos a mergulhar!
A intenção é trazer a reflexão que no fundo desse RIO existem pedras preciosas, e que para isso ser visto é preciso acabar com o olhar superficial deste RIO e se arriscar a mergulhar profundamente.
AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RIVER – “WISDOM”
Hands, feet, the marks of a life of struggle, smiles, and hope.
A project that aims to reveal the Baixada Fluminense region of Rio de Janeiro in depth— in a way that neither society nor public authorities have ever been willing to dive into.
The intention is to spark reflection: at the bottom of this river lie precious stones, but to see them, it is necessary to abandon the superficial gaze cast upon this river and dare to dive deep.
